Frequently Asked Questions
PI Program
Who is the PI Program for?
The Pi Program is for families who are interested in a whole-child, integrative approach to understanding development and everyday functioning. We look at how factors such as nutrition, digestion, environmental exposures, and brain chemistry may relate to behaviour, learning, mood, and resilience. We have extensive experience working with families of children with autism and other developmental differences, and we support parents in gaining a deeper understanding of the biological and lifestyle factors that may influence their child’s development.
What results can I expect with the PI Program?
The Pi Program helps parents make sense of what they are seeing in their child — such as changes in behaviour, learning, sleep, digestion, or emotional regulation — and understand what may be influencing these difficulties.
Families often say that after working with Pi, they feel less confused and less overwhelmed, understand what to focus on at home, and feel more confident about what steps to take next. While we do not provide medical treatment or promise specific outcomes, we support families with clear explanations, practical guidance, and ongoing support tailored to their child.
How long does the program last?
The program is individualized and does not have a fixed length. Most families work with us for 6 to 12 months, depending on the child’s needs, test results, and response to interventions.
Why might the PI Program seem expensive?
Our work involves many hours of individualized preparation, interpretation, and careful planning before and between consultations. This process draws on years of specialized education and experience.
Each week requires detailed review, analysis, and communication tailored to the individual family. Many families seek our support because they are looking for a highly personalized, integrative perspective that goes beyond standard approaches.
We understand that cost is an important consideration, and our fees reflect the significant time, expertise, and individualized attention involved in this type of work.
Do you also work with adults?
Yes, we also work with adults with ADHD or other formally diagnosed conditions, as well as adults who simply want to take better care of their health. We also work extensively with couples planning to conceive, and with pregnant and breastfeeding women, where nutrition and lifestyle support play a particularly important role.
Laboratory Testing
How will I recieve my lab test kit?
Once testing is agreed upon and payment to the laboratory is completed, your lab test kit will be shipped directly to your home. Clear step-by-step instructions are available in your client portal and are also included in the test kit (usually in English). We will guide you through the process if any questions arise.
Will I need to collect blood for the lab test or visit my doctor?
No. These tests do not require blood collection or a visit to your doctor. Samples are collected at home using the test kit — most frequently urine and stool, and in some cases saliva — and returned to the laboratory according to the provided instructions.
Client Dashboard
Do I need a computer to participate in the PI Program?
Yes. The client dashboard provides a convenient and easy way to handle documents, complete forms, view support plan information, book consultations, and more. However, the client dashboard cannot be accessed via mobile phone, and a computer is necessary to take advantage of the program features.
How will I book my monthly consultations?
In your client dashboard, you will have access to a booking system that allows you to conveniently reserve consultations on dates and times that best fit your schedule. Your dashboard will also help you stay on track with reminders of your upcoming consultation dates.
How often will I be able to communicate with our therapist?
In addition to your monthly video consultations, your support plan includes a secure messenger within the client portal, where you can communicate directly with your therapist. You are encouraged to send weekly updates or questions. Your therapist will respond to messages within two working days, Monday through Friday.
How will I assess my child’s progress?
Your child’s progress is reviewed monthly during each consultation and visualized using graphs, allowing us to monitor changes over time. Some families also choose to share a short monthly video showing how their child is doing. This is entirely optional. These videos can help us identify which developmental milestones may be appropriate to target at a given time. This approach is particularly helpful for families who are not enrolled in other therapeutic services.
Do you have more questions?
If you have further questions, we invite you to book a free introductory call, where we can answer questions about our approach and help you decide whether our services are a good fit for your family.
